Take a step to new horizons and expand your vision with the new Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8. Pack a camera that has an 18-50mm*1 f/1.8-2.8 ultra-wide-angle NIKKOR zoom lens and an ISO range of 160-12800 everywhere you go. A true NIKKOR pedigree, the 18-50mm*1 f/1.8-2.8 lens is designed with the professional in mind. It features a hybrid autofocus system for accurate acquisition of your subjects, no matter how quick the moment may be. Feel liberated with the power to shoot videos in 4K UHD/30p. The DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 is an empowering experience yet one that feels familiar. From the moment you hold it, you will realise how intuitive it is with its DSLR-style controls and menu interface. Go further and bring your work to the world with the new SnapBridge feature – all you have to do is connect your smart device to the camera via Bluetooth.

The DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 was made to capture splendour, from the narrowest of street scenes, to wide stunning architectural wonders or the expanse of nature. So whether you’re out on an African plain or at the bottom of the skyscraper, take it all in with 20.8 megapixels of resolving power and an 18-50mm*1 f/1.8-2.8 ultra-wide-angle NIKKOR lens. Create images with rich textures and colours even in low light with the superior noise-reduction performance of the 1 inch-type backside illumination CMOS image sensor and new EXPEED 6A image-processing engine, which provides superb definition and colour reproduction throughout the entire sensitivity range, from ISO 160 to 12800. The DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 is designed for more than just stills, supporting video recording of up to 4K UHD/30p, so you’ll have the tools you need to capture your vision of the world in all its glory. Built to surpass professional expectations, the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 features perspective control that compensates for distortion caused by differences of focal distances for realistic reproduction of architecture and tall subjects.

Decades of research and the relentless pursuit of craftsmanship has led to the creation of the 18-50mm*1 f/1.8-2.8 lens, NIKKOR’s brightest ultra-wide-angle lens yet. With a maximum aperture of f/1.8 at 18mm equivalent*1, get the shot using fast shutter speeds even in dark situations, and create high-contrast images with beautifully blurred backgrounds. Complementing its compact design are an aspherical Extra-low Dispersion glass element, as well as an High Refractive Index (HRI) lens element, and large-diameter, molded-glass aspherical lens elements for efficient reduction of aberrations. Revel in the freedom to shoot in various situations, with a Nano Crystal Coat that effectively reduces ghost and flare effects in backlit scenes, and a fluorine coat with high antifouling performance for easy maintenance.

Seize every moment that comes your way with the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8. A hybrid autofocus (AF) system instantly identifies subjects and automatically selects the appropriate AF method: either the 105-point phase-detection AF, which excels at acquiring moving subjects, or the 171-point contrast-detect AF, which allows extremely accurate focusing even in dark situations. Understanding that professionals demand more from their gear, the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 was built to perform high-speed continuous shooting at approximately 20 frames per second*3 with AF so your camera can keep up with you. The Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) also works to compensate for camera shake to deliver sharp photos and steady videos.

Share your best shots with SnapBridge, a new feature that automatically downloads your images to your smart device via a constant Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection. BLE maintains constant connection with minimal power, so you can continue shooting and sharing without significantly draining your batteries. SnapBridge also allows your smart device to access the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 when it is switched off. It even automatically archives your pictures onto Nikon Image Space*4.

The DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 is built with the professional in mind, featuring familiar DSLR-style controls and menu structure, so you are ready to shoot right from the moment you pick it up. The 3-inch touch-panel monitor features an approximately 1037k-dot OLED display for excellent visibility across the entire frame, and moves where you tell it to with its tilting mechanism. From wide to near, be in control of your desired focal length by simply turning the step zoom ring, so whether you’re shooting wide for a stunning skyscraper or closer in for a portrait shot, you’ll get right into the action. Have a favourite focal length? Set it and have it automatically shift to that position, right from the moment you power up. Shoot the way you want to, with an integrated accessory shoe (ISO 518) so you can add on the optional electronic viewfinder with eye-sensor, or go further and customise your rig with a filter or lens hood to make the camera truly your own.
