Turn your photos into a ready-to-hang work of art!

Stretched canvas prints can be a great alternative to prints on paper. The popularity of canvas prints as gifts has been growing for years and no wonder! They are easy to hang, don’t require a frame and immediately distinguish themselves from your standard framed prints.

Printed in-store, our Classic Coated Canvas has a satin finish, displaying vibrant, true-to-life colour brilliance!

michaels Classic Coated Canvas is:

  • Cleanable - Wipe your canvas clean from dust without damaging the print
  • Durable - Scratch and crack-resistant, particularly around the edges and cleanly wrapped corners
  • Archival - Guaranteed to last for over 100 years indoors (away from direct sunlight)

We hand stretch our canvases in-store and do so on quality kiln dried plantation pine for maximum sturdiness.

Images can be printed as small as 8”x10” and as big as 40”x60” for a gorgeous and stunning wall feature. You can even mix and match our standard bar sizes to create your own custom square and panoramic canvases!

Big Prints from Small Files

Did you ever dream of seeing that image you took on Instagram blown up as a 20”x 20” canvas? Or did you accidentally take your winning photo on a low-resolution setting? Our sophisticated RIP technology also allows us to turn very small files into very large canvases while maintaining perfect resolution and quality! Our friendly Imaging Consultants will be able to view your file and advise you how big you will be able to print it! Be prepared to be shocked at just how big you can go!

Gallery Wrapping

Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist’s canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides of the stretcher bars and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. This allows for canvas prints to have a “gallery wrap” or border around the small sides of the canvas.

At michaels we have 4 different options for gallery wrapping your canvas:

  • Mirrored Edges are our most popular type of wrap. This wrap takes the edge of the image and reverses it over the sides to create a natural looking, stylish border.
  • Gallery Wrap is a wrapping technique where the whole image is made to fit the canvas so that when it wraps onto the frame, the edges of the image do as well. This makes your borders look natural but you will lose about an inch off of each edge of the image.
  • White Edges fills the edges with white.
  • Black Edges fills the edges with black.
