Blackmagicdesign announces the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K

Blackmagic continues to expand their impressive line of affordable live production switchers with the introduction of the new ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K. This new model includes 8 standards converted 12G‑SDI inputs, a new Fairlight audio mixer, ATEM Advanced Chroma Key, motion media clips and more!

Up until now, one of the main problems users have faced when creating productions with Blackmagic’s affordable live production switchers has been making sure all inputs are matched for frame rate and resolution. With so many standards available and with many modern video sources locked to legacy standards, matching them all to your chosen broadcast standard has been difficult to say the least. Additional Blackmagic Teranex standards converters, while more than capable of taking care of this technical problem, take up extra rack space, require extra power and cabling and of course add to the equipment cost. It seems that every production has one video source that is not possible to match with all the others!

The new ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K features an independent Teranex low latency standards converter allowing inputs to be any combination of HD or Ultra HD television formats. The switcher will convert inputs to the switcher’s standard, and combined with input re-sync, this means you can simply plug in and it just works!

The value of having built in Teranex standards conversion available on each input can not be underestimated! This one feature can save users the huge expense of purchasing multiple standalone converters.

Leica announces the Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16–35mm f/3.5–4.5 Lens

Leica's Full Frame Mirrorless SL camera system has just gained its third zoom lens with the announcement of the new Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16–35mm f/3.5–4.5 ASPH. This lens joins the existing 24-90mm f/2.8-4 and the 90-280mm f/2.8-4 lenses which together provide an impressive 16mm to 280mm range in a very manageable 3 lens kit.

Fast and sharp when it matters


Together with the typical Leica, i.e. exceptional, imaging performance at all distances and apertures , the high-performance lens offers simultaneously fast and almost silent autofocus. For this, only one very light element is moved for focusing. A specially developed drive concept comprising a stepping motor and linear positioning enables very fast, almost-silent, and precise focusing without changing the overall length of the lens.
