Tamron has announced a new constant aperture high speed f/2.8 standard zoom lens for the full frame Sony E-mount mirrorless system. This new lens will feature outstanding image quality and enable the photographer to create beautiful background blur while isolating their subject.
The 28-75mm focal length range is bound to please photographers looking for an all rounder lens with great quality for the Sony system — at what we expect will be a very attractive price.
On Sony's APS-C format A5000 and A6000 series bodies, this new Tamron lens will yield an equivalent focal length of 45-120mm providing a great option for portrait shooting while still providing impressive control over the depth of field with your subjects.
Judging from the size and weight specifications, this new 28-75mm should be a very good fit with the Sony's very compact mirrorless bodies. As compared to Sony's 24-70mm GM lens, the Tamron comes in at 18mm shorter and a massive 336g lighter.
With all this in mind, Tamron looks like they have a winner on their hands that will find its way into many Sony shooter's kits.
