Join Ian as he demystifies the tilt shift lens. This presentation will explain how use Tilt Shift lenses to obtain the best depth of field and focus, to correct perspective distortion and also some creative uses such as Stitching, the miniature effect and selective focusing.
Presenter’s Bio:
Multi award winning Australian photographer Ian van der Wolde is a successful Melbourne based commercial photographer who specialities include, Advertising, Aerial, Fashion, Food, Corporate People, Public Relations, Portraiture, Product and Industrial photography.
Servicing a diverse range of clients from small local businesses to large multinationals, his work has taken him all over Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the USA.
Having established his studio, Altered Images Photography in 1986, he has serviced many genres of photography including Commercial Photography, School Photography, and Wedding & Portrait Photography. In the late 1990’s Ian decided focus on his real passion of Commercial photography selling his School Photography Business and closing down the Wedding Portrait side of his business.
Facing the challenges of migrating to the “new” digital age, Ian was very quickly recognised for his skills in this area and soon found himself in high demand to lecture to fellow professional photographers in the areas of colour management, digital workflow and fine art inkjet printing.
A past National President of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), Ian was awarded the title “Honorary Fellow” of the AIPP in 2008 after being recognised by his peers for his outstanding contribution to the industry. Ian is also an AIPP Accredited Master of Photography with 3 Gold Bars and has received more than 60 Australian photography industry awards, including the 2012 & 2017 Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year and the 2012 Victorian Illustrative Photographer of the Year. Ian is also an Ilford Master, Ilford Certified Printing Partner, Profoto Premium Club Trainer and X-Rite Coloratti. Ian continues to contribute to the industry by Lecturing at Swinburne University, mentoring photography college graduates and sitting on the Honours Committee of the AIPP. Ian is also National Chairman of the AIPP Compliance Committee.
